The overhang was designed to allow for participants of outdoor events to approach the track without having to go through the building.

The slatted sides, which are located on both ends of the facility, create a sense of motion when approaching the building from any angle.

The trackside of the building has been designed to be a 'viewing box' featuring a wall of windows to allow spectators to view events and emphasizing the focus of the facility.
