Skaters traveled from as far away as Ottawa to compete in the 2nd Annual Master's Challenge held on January 24th & 25th. It was a bone chilling -24 but skaters and volunteers weathered the cold for plenty of races and PBs. Photos courtesy of George Giaratana.

Ground Breaking officially was celebrated on September 25, 2007. From that, excavators worked on the site through until January to cut and fill the 400 m track. Volunteers worked to make ice after that to hold various events throughout the winter.

On May 10, 2008, over 200 people participated in the 4th Annual Lakefield 5K ~ Run the River. The event raised over $3200 for the Oval project.
