Candlelight Skate

The annual candlelight skate will take place on Friday, Feb 10th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The light from hundreds of candles will guide you way around the 400 metre Oval at the Ontario Speed Skating Oval.

We recommend that you bring a flashlight to guide your way from the parking lot down to the Oval site.


Lakefield Challenge

On February 4th the Lakefield Blades Long Track Speed Skating Club will be hosting a truly unique event for both experiences and recreational skaters.

Teams of 4 skaters will skate together around the 1/4 mile Oval for an hour. In the OPEN Division we expect to have some faster skaters skate together for an hour. In the CORPORATE Division we are looking for companies or organizations to enter a team and skate together.  The RECREATIONAL Division will attract a group of friends or club recreational skaters who want to skate the hour together.  Finally the FAMILY Division is for members of the same family to work together as a team.

We will have a rest station set up on the edge of the track for those who needs refreshements or a rest - memebrs of your team can leave the ice surface althoughwe want each team to stay together for the full hour.

Rental speed skates will be available on the Day fo the event. The form to register for this event is attached and we will accpet registrations until Thursday, February 2nd at 6:00 p.m.

Polar Cup - Jan 28th, 2012

The weather looks like it will be great for the Polar Cup Pond Hockey Tournament.  The ice is already in good condition and the on site parking along with the new municipal road to the top of the hill will make access to the event much easier for everybody.

This year we are very happy to have Molson's provide assistance with this year's event. so along with some warm food there will be a cash bar.

We look forward to seeing you at this event - We will accept registrations until Thursday, Jan 26th at 6:00 p.m.
